The Ghost Busters: I’ve never heard a theme tune so unrelated to its subject matter.
I’ve never heard a theme so unrelated to rhythm and melody.
By the way, has anyone else noticed the similarity between this guy and Douglas Renholm?
Firstly, just wanted to say that I’m a HUGE fan of your work! I’m an aspiring comedy writer, so you’ve been a tremendous influence …
Secondly, I read something last year, that said you were setting up your own production company. Was that accurate? If so, will you be accepting script submissions?
Anyway, my very best to you and yours …
My second best to them and theirs …
Keep up the good work!
Bit late with this but it’s still worth a look.
It’s one of a series of videos that that challenges creationist ideas and arguments, in this one Ben Stein is systematically taken apart… someone get the popcorn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiNGK3y5Ypg
Tom waits press conference. Nice timing at end.
the shining as a romantic feel good movie,
The Ghost Busters: I’m constantly amazed at the kind of shows (and movies) that receive funding.
I’m also disappointed when a really clever show is canceled (here in the states, it’s usually because the show is _too_ clever).
Have you ever read the comic Scott Pilgrim?
If you haven’t you should check it out.
I’ve finished reading all the current volumes and really enjoyed them.
@ Thomas J. Brown
It’s mainly because most clever people don’t sit on their bean bag all day watching TV so programmes like Arrested Development don’t get seen by their intended audience. I hope the AD movie happens though, that would be swell.
Though I couldn’t believe it when I found out Deadwood hadn’t been picked up for a fourth season, it was my unofficial successor to The Sopranos.
Where is the Justice?!
The actress wumman who was the lawyer in ” Grant to him etc” turned up in that new James Nesbitt thing “Midnight Man” on Thursday might. But she got shot by the bay guys…
Karma chameleon indeed….
Scott Pilgrim really confuses the tits off me. I’ve got the first volume but it feels like there should be three or four before it.
Pat Shortt in space! Soon-ish! We hope you will enjoy it sir..
holy shit, Crack, that looks amazing! More details!!!
Wrong Headed–I’ll check out the comic. Didn’t ‘Season 2’ of ‘Deadwood’ go off the rails, though? I couldn’t get through it.
Graham! Eureka moment here – Isn’t Matt Berry’s “voice” (you know the one) inspired by James Mason’s?! Surely I’m on to something here!
Evidence, if proof be need be:

I may have posted this before, but it *is* awesome
The Predator Rap:
David, you got your information right.
I want a Jesse Ventura!
This is fun.
Thanks sir! The biscuit has obliged..
RE: “David, you got your information right.”
Thanks, Graham …
Have you got the production company up and running yet?
Congrats on the award Mr Lineham(Rose D’or for Best sitcom). Well deserved. Did you celebrate in style?
Jesus, I love the Manbabies. I’ll have to make one of those of me and my dad. I did do *this* thing, however, which is… kind of similar: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b275/LepusRex/dwiltry1.jpg?t=1210370311
And, seriously, nice folksy swastikas, there! I thought you were against the rehabilitation of that symbol… :)
Just wanted my own folksy swastika.
I like the latter day post rock stuff to the early synth pop stuff.
whats this about an alan partridge film?
are you going to be having any involvement with “In The Loop”?
Jesse Ventura is without a doubt the most truthful politician the Klingon Empire ever produced!
Hey Graham! Have you ever thought of re-doing Father Ted, but as triple-x porn?
Congrats to Graham on the Rose Dose D’or award! The show I write for was up against IT Crowd (Stokvel – South Africa), but to be honest, I didn’t have much hope after watching season 2 of IT. :-)
Apologies if you’ve been asked this before, but a friend and I have wondered about the bit in Ted when Ronaldo the hamster rides his bike past the chinese lads… is there a significant joke that we’re missing, or is the humour completely from how ridiculous a sight it is? It’s hilarious, but it seems to get a disproportionate laugh compared to other jokes or something. Just don’t like to think there’s a well-written Ted joke going unnappreciated!
A teacher in Florida was fired for doing wizardry. He did that little trick where you make a toothpick disappear and then reappear:
My 7-year-old has decided that Chirpy Burpy Cheap Sheep is his favorite thing to watch ever (I love Father Ted, but I agree with you that this particular episode is a bit weak), so I’ve had to watch that episode about 24 times in the last few days. He’s also taken to calling me “Dougal.” Not sure what to make of that.
Darren, no, there’s nothing more to it than a rodent on a bike. And that is the laugh we got on the night. I guess you had to be there.
HeyG, trying my hand at Portal for the 1st time. Demo mind you, but I’m def getting the O Box soon.
Fair enough! Thanks for clearing that up. I can get back to just enjoying it for what it is without feeling ignorant :)
Hey Graham, what do you think about the work done by Warren Ellis?
I read his novel ‘Crooked Little Vein’. It was good but, without spoiling it I hope, disturbingly intense!
He’s a bit of a blind spot with me, although I liked ‘Planetary’.
Yeah, I hear alot of good things about that series, but all I’ve read of it is an issue which had the characters meeting a host of Batman’s (Batmen?) from other universes. The Adam West one was included as well!
Dear sweet Jesus that Ghost Busters thing looks terrible.
Funny? Not Funny? I’m not sure.
That Ghostbusters thing bent my brain. In a flood of squiggly sensations, I *remembered* it – likely for the first time in 33 years. I remembered singing that theme song with great relish when I was around 5. I think I liked the show then, because I had this fond feeling all over.
That was weird. Thanks for the mind blowing.
The show looks awful.
The Pat Shortt still is from Hugh O’Connor’s new comedy short film. Yes, Hugh O’Connor the actor from Young Poisoner’s Handbook. He’s aiming for a directing career. I’m psyched for him. I don’t know the title.
The other astronauts are Michael McElhatton and Peter MacDonald. It’s only recently completed and I think it will first be shown at the Galway Film Fleadh.
Love the blog Graham,as it makes me happy. Just found this gigglesome story, in fact anything off this site is pretty damn good.
Graham, re: Bilal Hussein, that’s the classification they’ve been giving everyone who’s been released. In other words, ‘they’re all bad men’, but some of them are no longer bad men and so can be released. Effectively they’re reclassified as ‘ex-terrorists’. So much for the fair trial.
Thanks a lot Graham! :-(
I’m supposed to hand in a film journal today as part of a college assignment. I should be in panic trying to finish it and yet you have me looking at fucking man babies!
That Ghost Busters intro has been bothering me all week. Like Phoebe, I’m getting deja vu all over again just watching it. Except I’m not sure I saw it before. Does anyone on here know if it was broadcast in Ireland or UK in the late 70s or early 80s? It reminded me of “Holmes and Yoyo”, if that rings a bell with anyone.
Just found the Monkey Island computer game series on torrent! I love this game…does anyone else remember it? Anyone who hasn’t played the witty pirate adventure game I really recommend it! Guybrush Threepwood is the best character ever!
Graham, I no you were a fan of the very clever video for Justice’s ‘D.A.N.C.E’, but if you haven’t seen their new vid, then check this out.
The audio and video quality isnt great, I’m sure there’s a better version out there somewhere…but you can’t beat the mix of 70’s,80’s & 90’s logos transformed into lyrics. Quality vid, and the song’s pretty catchy too!
i ‘know’ *, I need to drink my morning coffee, for I lack my spelling prowess without it!
I have seen it, it’s stunning. :)
seen this video?
I have a theory that the only people who watch Bill O’Reilly are liberals, and they do it out of sheer disbelief.
Less a theory, more of a hope.
