Is this something to get excited about?

Sadly, I don’t think the Democrats have the balls to follow through on this.
I would love to tell you that this news is all the buzz around here.
Unfortunately, I think people have lost so much faith in the Democrat’s ability to accomplish anything other than meaningless ‘political gestures’ that we barely even take notice anymore.
I really hope they do make some headway on this. Not only would justice be served, but maybe the liberals would be taken seriously again.
I really like Kucinich, I just wish he hadn’t started talking about UFO’s.
Probably not. Most people don’t take Kucinich seriously, whether he deserves it or not.
No, I don’t think there’ll be much enthusiasm for this. We’ve learned our lesson after the gubernatorial debacle in California: if you don’t like the management, just run down the clock; if you ask for a do-over, you might get something worse.
Kucinich is such a rad dude, but I doubt this will pan out.
I wish this is something to get excited about yet Kucinich get stabbed in the front from his own party. Too bad too, Kucinich is the only sane guy next to Paul.
Oh, right, he’s the UFO guy. Well, that’s that, then.
In fairness to Kuchinich, when he was asked about the UFO thing in the last Democrat debate, he did say that he saw an unidentified flying object, as opposed to a flying saucer, and did make the distinction.
yeah, he’s HONEST. “Did you see something in the sky that was unidentified?” “Yes.” That makes him crazy? Listening to him here, he’s obviously quite sane. Anyway, most Americans believe in flying saucers (and I’m not using that as a diss)!
I don’t knock him for the UFO thing (Christ, the people slagging him for that probably believe in god – far more ridiculous if you ask me).
I’m just surprised more people haven’t commented on what a cheap ploy it is to get attention and maybe some votes by someone who’s otherwise unlikely to get much of either. I guess my question to him would be “Why now?. The timing is just very suspect. Or maybe I’m just a cynical bastard.
On a not completely unrelated note, I’ve just read ‘Breakfast of Champions’ and am astounded by its acerbic, hilarious and above all immediate relevance to the world today.
imho attempts to impeach Cheney on Iraq legitimize and strengthen him in the eyes of his supporters, which is a disturbing aspect of the fools democracy only the most fortunate of us on the planet live with.
We in Ireland have Bertie, an “accountant” who deals mainly in cash and can’t remember who gave him hundreds of thousands of pounds.
He thinks people who moan about stuff should just go ahead and kill themselves, seriously, kill yourselves.
Quoting Bill Hicks may have damaged his popularity more than taking all that filthy lucre “to do up his house”. That is bizarre and painfully funny enough to be positively Vonnegutesque… :)
I think it is really weird I have never seen that kind of thing before him.
this is everything to get excited about. chances are a blue light will shoot from the sky, grabbing Kucinich by the chest, and ripping him into the sky during his alien abduction…then we will be stuck with mid-peached vice president, and who the heck wants to clean up that mess? not I……not I….
And so the resolution was passed on to an interdepartmental committee with fairly broad terms of reference, so that, at the end of the day…
Kucinich has been the only one talking about impeachment for Cheney and Bush for what feels like years now. This is not breaking news.
No, this will probably not come to anything. Yes, Kucinich often veers sharply toward flaky, but really, how is seeing a UFO any more off-kilter than making national decisions based on your own personal blind faith in a conservative God? At least many of his other ideas are sound, and he seems less self-serving than the usual rabble.
That Bill Richardson ain’t too bad, neither. Also doesn’t have a chance in hell, however.
Did we find those weapons of mass destruction? NO. I believe we entered Iraq under false pretenses, and agree with Kucinich’s comments. This is the biggest step anyone has taken opposing the war in Iraq. Someone who is not afraid of criticism, and speaks his mind.
I think this is a bigger story. Ron Paul made $4.2 million dollars in online donations on November 5th!
There’s no chance this will go anywhere. Haven’t you seen how proud Cheney and his ilk are of their “hard” reputation? He’s even embracing the Darth Vader references. Did you see how Lynn Cheney brought the Vader figure to give to Jon Stewart? Their friends are getting rich off the war, W is happy God is rewarding him (even if the voters aren’t) and they have destroyed any remnant of democracy in this country. The stacking of the Supreme Court alone has set us back to Victorian times. Well done.
Star Wars Red Herring nonsense aside, there is almost a majority in the US Congress to have Cheney impeached. The last vote in Congress was 433-386. The vote crossed party lines. Many Republican congressmen/women voted against Cheney.
It’s rarely reported but the figures are there. Nobody wants Bush Impeached as that would make Cheney the acting US President. Cheney can make all the jokes he likes about being Darth Vader but a lot of even his own gang are nervous about his control of the levers of power. Even the Republicans are terrified of going to war with Iran yet that is what Cheney wants.
